A compact renovation has breathed new life into this 1950’s cottage by carefully positioning the addition to take advantage of the northern aspect and rear gardens.  Embodied energy for the project was minimised by retaining and re-using existing materials and spaces together with selecting low carbon options for the new addition.  With a clean and minimal aesthetic combined with practicality these light-filled rooms will form the base for family life for many years to come.
